The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Parker Post 4266 presented the American Flag to the Legend Band Boosters on August 16, 2010. This flag will be PROUDLY carried by the Legend Marching Band during competitions and other events. Legend Band Boosters would like to thank all members of the Parker VFW Post 4266 for this generous gift. Scaffold Paint Crew

You may remember when the Legend Titan Band site first started – there was a picture of Mr. Otis sitting on a ladder and an update post was that we were looking for a scaffolding.

The scaffold arrived and was recently assembled by the LHS Titan Band Leaders and the Band Booster parents – where they held a painting party and painted the scaffolding Legend blue!

How Can I Get Involved?

PARENTS: I have had several of you ask “How can I get involved”? The answer is quite simple, just do something / anything… Everyone brings different strengths and abilities to the organization. A great way to start is just by coming to a booster meeting. Come meet the parents of kids your kids are friends with. Who knows? They may be just like you and you might even make some new friends. The meetings usually last for 90 minutes once a month. See you at the next meeting!

PARENTS: The following are ways to get involved-
1/Come to a meeting(s) 2/Double Angel 3/Garage Sale 4/Run for a band Officer position 5/Help w/the MANY jobs during summer band camp and the fall season 6/Pit Crew 7/Driving the Truck 8/Marching Festival 9/Craft Fair 10/Jazz Festival 11/Spring Concert Hospitality 12/Silent Auction 13/Golf Tournament 14/Band banquet 15/Web site management 16/Fundraising 17/Quartermaster assistance or maybe you have a unique business, service or contact that can help the band. As you can see – THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO GET INVOLVED! To get involved – Contact Rob Moroni Booster President or Suzette Farrar Booster Vice President.

Thanks Mr. Otis

LHS Band receives 3 1’s at Band Festival

Congratulations, to the combined Legend Symphonic/Concert Band, they received 3 1’s(a 1 is superior rating)
at the 2010 CHSAA Lage Group Band Festival , held at Rock Canyon HS. One of the judges gave the band a 1+ (a perfect score and the highest 1 possible and very rare) a second judge gave the band a score 1 point away from a 1+ and the third judge also gave them a very high 1.

The on-stage clinic judge immediately commented on the “obvious discipline and maturity of the band.” When he said that to them, you could see the relief and pride on the band members faces. All three judges were impressed with the high level of music as well as the quality and execution from the band and even more amazed when they found out the band had no juniors or seniors.

In a separate sight-reading clinic, the band received a 2+(excellent rating) and only 1 point away from a 1.

The Legend Symphonic/Concert Band is made up of select 8th graders from Cimarron MS and all 9th and 10th band members from Legend.

Congratulations LHS Symphonic/Concert Band!!!!!!

FYI – for our new parents unfamiliar with the rating system see below:
1=superior
2=excellent
3=good/fair
4=fair/poor(rarely given)
5=unprepared (very rare)
