Congrats to Lis Escabedo…

Liz was recently selected for the 2014 BOA(Bands of America) National Honor Band. The Band is recognized as one of the top National Honor bands for High School students in the country. Liz will be playing both Oboe and English Horn at the concert on March 8th in Indianapolis, IN. Liz will be performing under the Baton of Eugene Corporon.

Congrats again to Liz, we are all very proud of you!

*The Colorado All-State Band is the most prestigious HS Honor Band in the state and represents for each student many hours of practice and dedication…These students will be representing Legend HS in Concert at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO on April 5th. The All State Symphonic Band is comprised of 114 students representing 57 high schools. A total of 886 students from 144 schools participated in the recent All State Bands auditions.

Congratulations to the 3 Legend students that made it and to all of the Legend students that auditioned.

2 Legend Students make the “CU Honor Band”…

Congratulations to Kaelen Guthrie(Clarinet) and Andy Bradfield(Tuba)!
They will be representing Legend HS in Concert with students from across the state at the University of Colorado on Saturday, March 1st.

We are very proud of Kaelen and Andy and all of the Legend band students that auditioned! Way to go guys, we are proud of you!

Congratulations to Legend Band Students…

Congratulations to Trevor Kimbrel. Trevor was recently selected to the Trombone section of 2013 Colorado All-State Band. The All-State band is the most prestigious honor band a high school band student can make. Trevor will be representing Legend HS at the University of Northern Colorado in a Concert this April and performing with other students from across the state.

Congratulations to Kaelen Guthrie. Kaelen was recently selected to the Clarinet section of the University of Colorado 2013 CU Honor Band. The CU Honor Band is considered one of the Elite Honor Bands in the state.

Congratulations to Andy Bradfield who was selected as the 1st Tuba Alternate of the University of Colorado 2013 CU Honor Band.

Congrats to Martha Oconnor and LHS Band Students…

…Congratulations to Mrs. O’Connor(Band Director-Cimarron MS) and 8 LHS band students for all of their work directing and teaching at the 2nd Annual LHS Elementary Summer Band Camp. The Legend band students involved were: Jodi Brown/Kaelen Guthrie/Courtney Grubb/Allison Berry/Hallie Kimbrel/Lewis Farrar/Braiden Olds and Trevor Kimbrel.

The LHS Band students acted as mentors and section coaches for 20 young and aspiring 4th,5th and 6th grade musicians from the Legend Feeder Area. One of the young campers said, they “really enjoyed learning how to play the trumpet, but the best part was playing the daily games and activities and getting the snacks.” perspective????

Legend HS Marching Band 2011 5A-Semi Finals

Legend band student impacts community…

It is not often, that a young person is directly responsible for significant changes
in their community. Well that is exactly what Courtney Grubb (sophomore – Oboe/Flute) has done.

Recently, Courtney presented a proposal to the Parker Town Council, that would ban smoking in Playgrounds located within the Town of Parker. It passed!!!!!!!!

Great Job Courtney and keep making a difference!
