Rekindled “Legends Jazz Festival” – sparks flame…

The “Legends Jazz Festival”…which was held on Thursday and Friday December 3rd and 4th – was a tremendous success and more than 450 MS and HS Jazz students from around the state were able to be a part of Jazz Clinics / Student Jazz Performances / Jazz Improv Workshops and Professional Music Performances. Planning for Next Year’s Jazz Festival are already in the works. The festival will be held next year Thursday and Friday, December 1st and 2nd 2016…

This year’s festival Included Clinicians and and Adjudicators John Gunther(Colorado State University) Chip Crotts(Georgia Tech University), Dana Landry(University of Northern Colorado) and National Recording Artist Nelson Rangell from Denver, Co.

Performances by the Nelson Rangell Band and John Gunther.

Jazz Improv Clinicians included: Ron Miles(Metro State University), Darren Kramer(Darren Kramer Orchestra), and Jim Stranahan (Jim Stranahan Quartet)

2016 C Guard and Percussion Parent Info/Audition Meeting 11/10 7pm…

If you are interested or considering membership in 2016 Marching Band – You should attend the The 2016 Color Guard and Percussion Parent info/audition meeting… on Tuesday, November 10 in the Legend Band Room. Students are welcome to join their parents at this meeting.

The meeting begins at 7pm and refreshments will be served.

Legend HS Percussion places 4th in Texas…

at the 2015 6th Annual Lewisville HS, Percussion Invitational! The Invitational was held in Lewisville, Texas over the weekend… and after a long drive on Friday and preparation on Saturday morning… The Legend Percussion Ensemble competed Saturday afternoon with 10 other percussion ensembles in it’s class and finished 4th out of 11! Way To Go Legend Percussion Ensemble. WE are all very proud of you!

Special Thanks to the Lewisville Band Parents and their Percussion Director – Quiyan Murphy for all of their help before and during our visit! A VERY SPECIAL THANKS to the LEGEND BAND BOOSTERS THAT HELPED US MAKE THIS TRIP HAPPEN and ALL THE PARENTS THAT TRAVELED WITH US. Katie was selected as the 2015 1st semester Titan Band Student of the Quarter for her pursuit of musical excellence and unwavering diligence to achieving the highest level of individual and group performance.
