An Amazing MS Band/Orchestra Concert!!!!!!!

Congratulations to the Cimarron MS Band Students for an amazing spring concert on Wed. May 11th. The concert featured performances by the orchestra / 6th-7th-8th grade bands as well as the jazz band. The bands played fun and challenging music and the concert was enjoyed by all. Oh… and the jazz band was the BOMB’!!!!! Congratulations to Mrs. O’Connor (Band Director Extraordinaire) and all of the Cimarron Band Students! We are very excited about all of you becoming Legend Titans in the future! Keep up the good work!
Special Thanks to Karen Tarbell(principal Cimarron MS) for supporting the Performing Arts at the very HIGHEST LEVEL… She is an Exceptional Educational Leader!

Please help me congratulate these 3 accomplishments from our Legend Titans:
* Congratulations to Andy B for earning his 2nd Degree Black Belt.
(Andy plays Tuba at Cimarron MS and in the Legend Titan Marching Bands, he is a member of the Colorado Honor Band and now head of the Legend Band security team) Way to go Andy!
* Congratulations to Cheyenne S for receiving the prestigious Legend Titan Band student of the quarter award. Cheyenne plays Flute and is a member of the Symphonic Band and Color Guard Team. (Cheyenne’s friends say, “she is one of the nicest people in band”)!!!!
* And Congratulations to Legend’s own Drum Instructor, Tohbias Juniel who is featured in the June issue of Modern Drummer. Modern Drummer magazine is rated the #1 Drum Magazine in the world. It is quite an honor to be featured. We are very fortunate to have some one of his musical stature working with our kids!

Legend HS will host a Beginning summer Band/Orch Camp June 20-24. The camps main instructors will be Martha Oconnor – Director of Bands and Orchestras at Cimarron MS. Kurt Stroman Director of Orchestra at Legend HS and Orlando Otis Director of Bands at Legend HS.
Beginning, 1st or 2nd year band/orch students from the Legend Feeder area and throughout the district are invited to participate in this great summer camp experience for young players. For more info or a camp application…

I want to thank everyone who attended the Feeder Concert/Dinner this year, it was an outstanding success! Special thanks to our Principal Corey Wise and Cimarron Principal Karen Tarbell, on behalf of all the Legend Band Parents Thank You for supporting such a wonderful music program! Appreciate all who helped start up/clean up, served pasta, and of course attended the wonderful concert!

This is a meeting for Percussion and Color Guard students/parents who would be new to the Legend Band program for the 2011 – 2012 season. This meeting is designed to give potential Perc/CG students/parents information about the Legend Marching Band program and the audition process for membership in next year’s Percussion and Color Guard ensembles.
