at the Colorado State Fair Parade and Band Shell Competition last Saturday in Pueblo. The Legend Titans 127 members strong were led in Parade by Drum Major Trey H. and Assistant Drum Major Rachel C. They received the 1st place 5A and 1st place Overall Sweepstakes meaning they were named the Top Band of the Day!… The Percussion and Color Guard were Amazing also. They dazzled the crowds all along the Parade Route and received many compliments. They Band was cheered every time they did one of their signature Half-Time moves during the Parade Song. :”Aint No Mountain High Enough” parents-Also watch for that Signature Move in the 2nd Production of this year’s field Show. Squad Captains Elizabeth M. / Jon B. / Jake B. worked the band very hard during Band Camp and the the first couple weeks of school.
Several students said, “they really enjoyed performing at the Band Shell because they were able to perform some of their field show music to such an appreciative audience.”
A special Thank You to all of the Parents who were able to attend and help with all of the little things as well as the big things. “From pouring a small cup of water or carrying a cymbal to getting ice for the coolers 3 times or pushing a marimba or cheering along the route” , please know it was ALL Greatly APPRECIATED! Thanks Parents..
Also a Hearty Congratulations to Thunder Ridge HS and Highlands Ranch HS for doing a Fantastic job at the Parade as well!!!! Yeah to all of the Douglas County Schools that participated!

Do you spend $75 or more a week at the grocery store?
Do you spend $30 or more a week at the gas station?
Do you spend $50 or more a month on clothing?
Do you spend $50 or more a month on dining out?
If yes to any of the above questions – you can be putting money into your student’s account (BAND BUCKS) and helping out the band program at the same time!
We are really excited to let you know about an amazing fundraising program we are beginning – called SCRIPS. For those of you not familiar with it:
- You will earn money for your student’s account and the band boosters by buying what you already buy. There is NOTHING to purchase that you are not currently buying and there is NOTHING to sell!
- Just these basic expenses that you are already spending can easily put over $150 in your student’s account within the year, with no additional expense to you – just a little bit of preplanning. Multiply that by including friends and family and watch the account quickly grow!
Here is how the program works:
- You purchase gift cards from over 100 retailers and each of those retailers have agreed to give a rebate back to us in amounts between 2% and 15%. Each retailer is different, but you can see what each retailer rebate amount is on the order form.
- Just like our King Soopers program, 50% of the rebate will go to your student’s band account (BAND BUCKS) and can be used for band fees and/or trips. The other 50% of the rebate will go to the band boosters to support the entire band program (from which your student benefits every day!).
- Click here to print out the SCRIPS order form. Fill in what you would like and send the form, along with a check made out to LHS Band Boosters for the amount of your order PLUS $1 (for shipping & handling), in an envelope marked BAND BOOSTERS, and drop off in Mrs. Rozsa’s box.
- Allison Shride will collect the orders and place a group order for the gift cards on the 1st and the 15th of each month. Orders will take about 1 week to come in, and Allison will send the gift cards home with your student – while sending YOU an email letting you know to search your kid for the cards when they get home
.
If you would prefer to do your ordering on line – you can do so.
- Go to www.shopwithscrip.com and create an account through the family sign up area. At the end of the sign up, you will be asked for a code that will link you to Legend High School Band Boosters.
- The code is BA8A9FDE29952.
- You will be able to browse all of the different categories and put together your order. At checkout, you will receive a summary sheet with your total. Please print out that sheet and send in with a check made out to LEGEND HIGH SCHOOL BAND BOOSTERS for that amount + $1 to cover shipping and handling.
- Allison Shride will also receive an electronic version of your order and will place on the 1st or the 15th, depending on when payment is received.
One last thing we need for your first SCRIP order is to fill out an agreement form that is needed for the boosters to maintain their nonprofit status and keep us in good standing with the IRS. Please print this form and send in with your first order.
We will be answering questions about this program at our first booster meeting on August 17th. Everyone who attends this first meeting will be entered in a drawing that night for a $10 gift card. We will also enter everyone who places a SCRIPS order for our first two order periods (Aug 15 and Sept 1) in a drawing for a $25 gift card.
Please call or email Allison with questions!
