How can I help my kid remain healthy through Band Camp?
1. Plenty of Rest
2. Staying Hydrated (water at camp and during the day)
3. Good healthy meals especially lunch and dinner
4. Since we will be outside – stay away from Soft Drinks
5. DRINK Water
6. EAT Vegetables
7. We will be exercising each morning, stretching – light running. Your child should be prepared for this.
8. Remember to bring all of the daily items mentioned several times below
Note: I will be very aware of the Sun and Need for regular water breaks!(Bring Water Bottles)
and finally when they come home after a long hard day at band camp…and they are tired and sore, remind them that anything worth having is worth working hard for. The power of completion of a task, project, goal and high level of commitment is invaluable. Encourage them to be strong and go further than they have before. It will pay off.
Mon-Fri, July 11th – 15th Percussion / Color Guard Camp
9am – 2pm
(Bring Water Bottles/Lunch/Sun Screen Lotion/Comfortable Clothes/Shoes/Sun Glasses/Hats/All Equipment)
Day 1 only of this camp Color Guard arrive at 8am for meeting.
at 8:45am all Color Guard and Percussion will meet in the Band Room.
Friday, July 15th – New Member Orientation (anyone that did not march in last year’s Legend Marching Band).
*New Color Guard and Percussion members will meet with the orientation group for the 1st hour. 9am – 1pm (Bring Water Bottles/Sun Screen Lotion/Comfortable Clothes/Shoes/Sun Glasses/All Equipment)
*Leadership Team members should be in attendance to administer this orientation..
(LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED TO ALL ORIENTATION PARTICIPANTS)
Fri-Sat., July 15th – 16th (Leadership Camp) Although, I want every student to be a leader…
This camp is for the students that have been pre-selected and/or designated as leaders.
Leadership Camp Begins at 1:30pm on Friday after the conclusion of New Member Orientation and ends on Saturday Morning at 11am.
The leaders and their parents will be emailed the final information on this camp on Wednesday, July 13th(several items a still being organized)
Mon-Fri, July 18th – July 29th (no weekends) FULL BAND CAMP EVERYBODY ATTENDS… Color Guard / Percussion / Brass / Woodwinds!!!!!!!
8am – 5pm… (Camp will usually be over by 4:45pm)
*Parents please note that most band members will be involved in putting equipment etc… away at the end of rehearsal so it is not likely that your child will be ready to go the moment that I dismiss them. So please give yourself a few extra minutes as we end the day. Parents, as always you are invited to get out of your vehicles and meet other parents who may also be watching the last few minutes of the daily practices. (Bring Water Bottles/Lunch/Sun Screen Lotion/Comfortable Clothes/Shoes/Hats/All Equipment)
Saturday, July 23rd – 3rd Annual Garage Band Garage Sale (Band Parking Lot)
8am – 3pm…
Parents…you may drop off items everyday when you drop off or pick up your kid, during the 1st week of full Band Camp.
Saturday, July 23rd – Professional Make-up Session.
More info will be given out at CG Camp!
Thursday, July 28th – Band Demo Night/Pot-Luck and Cookout!
6:00pm – 8pm at Sports Authority District Stadium.
(More parent info to follow in the next week)
-Parents instead of dropping off your students for regular camp practice on this morning at Legend, you will drop them off at the District Stadium (Sports Authority Stadium)
-Then we will see you at 6:00pm for the Night’s activities…
I look forward to seeing all of you there…
Friday, July 29th – End of Band Camp Pool and Pizza Party…Celebration!
All Marching Band Members are Invited! The Pool is reserved just for the Legend band!
(we will hope for NO RAIN and LIGHTNING This YEAR!
7pm – 9pm Canterberry Pool
Saturday, July 30th…Parent only – BBQ and Chit Chat Gathering
Who Turns Down Free BBQ?????
Celebrate Your Child making it through Band Camp without your child being there.
