The 2011-2012 show production for the Legend Titan Band is coming together and this weekend the Titan Color Guard attended a make-up class that let them get a chance to try out the new show make-up for this year’s production. It took 2 separate classes to host all the girls!

Thank you to the Captain of the Color-Guard – Rae and her mom Mrs. Thomas for putting this great event together!

Take a look at the before and afters!

Can you say Hot! Hot! Hot!

The Legend Titan Marching Band Camp 2011 is well under way – and we don’t let a little (or a lot!) of hot weather get to us, but it sure was great today when some of the Band Booster Parents came up with a great way to cool off the Band Students by enlisting the help of the South Metro Fire Department!

Mrs. Thomas asked the Stroh Ranch Station to help cool the kids off during practice and they were more then happy to come out and soak the kids for a few minutes. While in formation, the kids would be get drenched with water and march when needed.

Diane with the Color Guard said “I did like it – it was very refreshing and I’m still drenched!” hours later.

Thank you South Metro Fire Station, Mrs. Thomas, Mrs. Farrar’s (for photos!) and the Band Booster Parents for making another fun memory at Band Camp!

Legend Band Parents, I want to take this moment to mention a very special Thank You to Andy Thomson – one of our own Legend Band Booster parents. Andy has been able to raise approximately $8200 for our band program! Thanks to his ‘thinking outside the box’ attitude, he has been very successful reaching out to his contacts and requesting donations for our band.

Andy, thank you for your ‘can do’ attitude toward fundraising for our kids. Band Parents – Andy is proof that there are people & companies out there that are willing to donate to a public charity (Legend Band Boosters) even in these economic times. Many of these contacts can probably be found in your own personal Rolodex! So take a few moments and reach out to those you feel may be able to donate to our band!

Thank you – Rob

The garage sale is approaching quickly! We are looking for volunteers to help price and sort items beforehand and lots of volunteers to help the day of the sale, July 23rd. We need 3 pick-ups or flatbed trailers to move the boxes/items from the theater garage to the parking lot. Also needed are one or two people who will place the signs at intersections around Parker early Saturday morning. You can pick up the signs on Friday. Please let Sarah Conrad (conradjt@msn.com) know if you can help in one of these areas. In addition, we will need about 30 adults and students to help with the set-up from 6 to 8:00 am and again during clean-up from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. There are two shifts during the day in which we will need adults and students to help, 8 to 11:00 am and 11 to 2:00 pm. Last, we need to to borrow some awnings and tables to use during the sale. You may drop these off during the week or at 6:00 Saturday morning.

There are two separate sign-up lists so please use these links to volunteer. (supplies and pricing and sorting day of the sale (July 23rd)) Our garage sale has been very successful in the past but we need your help! If you have any questions, please contact Sarah Conrad at conradjt@msn.com.

Thank You to Rhonda and Sam Brown for Donating 2600 bottles of water and 20 cans of gatorade. That was not a typo 2,600 bottles of water — an entire pallet and all for our kids and especially your kid!!!! Sam and Rhonda are regular members of the pit crew and have made many donations on behalf of the band in the past — their daughter is Mallory and she is a member of the Color Guard. On Behalf of the band – Thanks!!!!!

Check This Out—Thank You to Cathy and Phil Irwin who have secured a slightly used Golf Cart for the Legend Titan Band Program!!! Phil was talking to a fellow golfer and overheard him say he had his own personal golf cart and was getting a new one. Phil sprung into action and now it is ours… It is in GREAT working condition and will come in quite handy, especially this year since our practice field is much further away from the band door. We will use it to help our injured students get back to the band area and to help with equipment and water when possible. Phil is the Legend Golf Tourney coordinator and Cathy is a food coordinator on all of the food crews… those parents that feed your kids!!! Their daughter is Emily and she plays Tenor Sax in the band and is a senior. We will definitely need someone to step up and help out after their daughter graduates. On Behalf of the band – Thanks!!!!!
