Congratulations to Allyson B… She is a 9th grader and the Band’s 1st Homecoming Court representative. She plays Alto Sax in Marching and Wind Ensemble and Lead Tenor Sax in Jazz Band. Allyson is also a band leader and on the band officer student elected board. Way to go Allyson and Best of Luck… We are all very proud of you!

Traditionally at most high schools, Homecoming Week is the most exciting, busiest and hectic time of the
Fall Semester or maybe even the year… Legend HS is no different!
To ensure success for your student this week, band students should try to do the following:
1. Practice Good Time management all week / don’t procrastinate
2. Do school and homework during any free time that they may have.
(while hanging out before and after school / during PLC and Homeroom time / during extra time at lunch, etc…)
3. Get lots of rest this week – staying Hydrated by drinking lots of water when possible
4. Plan ahead with the schedule below…
Homecoming Schedule for the week of
Monday, Sept. 27 – Friday, Oct. 1
Tuesday-
*Regular Band Rehearsal 3:15pm -5:30pm
Wednesday-
*Perc Rehearsal 3:15 – 4:15pm
*Homecoming Parade 5pm – 5:30pm
(route Legend to Cimarron)
*Band plays at Homecoming BBQ 5:45-6pm
*Band decorates Band Hallway 6:15p – 7:45p
(pizza will be served for students involved in this activity)
Thursday-
*Regular Band Rehearsal 3:15p – 5:30p
Friday-
*Pep Assembly (assembly Schedule)
*8th graders dismissed from CIMS at 1:05pm
*Homecoming Football Game Call Time 4:45

CONGRATULATIONS to the Legend HS Marching Band, they finished an amazing 4th place in FINALS out of 20 bands at the 2010 DCMI Festival! The judges were all very complimentary of and impressed by the maturity of sound, execution of drill, energy level and confidence of the show, displayed by our band members. Our best compliment of the day may have been from one judge who said, “This is not a 2nd year band – congratulations and keep it up”!
The band was also 4th in prelims and 3rd in the 4A class!
There is no doubt that the day was a tremendous team effort and as usual the band boosters were in fine form: Qtr. Master and Team/Pit and Prop Crew/Food, Water and Snack Crews/Support Crew -the only thing that can be said is simply, THANK YOU!!!! There are too many of you to mention. But a hearty “Yeah Band” and “Ahoo-Ahoo-Ahoo” to all of you!

Friday Night Lights

It was another 1st for the Legend Titan Band – performing under the bright lights during half time at the recent Friday Night football show. The Titan Band also welcomed the Cimarron MS Band for the 2nd year to sit with the band and perform pep songs and to watch the half time show. We also want to say thank you to our Sponsors for dinner that night: Pizza Hut, Lil’ Ricci’s, Little Ceaser, and Domino’s all of Parker for providing dinner to our band and Middle School guests.

information for Saturday, 9/25-
DCMI Performance times have been announced. Please see below for the detailed information on Legend HS.
What: DCMI – Douglas County Marching Invitational
Where: Douglas County HS in Castle Rock, CO
When: The Legend performance time is at 11:15am.
(parents this is an exact time, so if you intend on being there to cheer the band on, please give yourself ample time to park, walk to the stadium and find a seat)
Students will arrive at Legend at 6:45am and leave for the DC stadium at approximately 8:30am. Students should eat a healthy breakfast and bring money for the concession stand after our performance. After our morning performance, students will change clothes and watch the other bands. At a time to be determined, students will receive a late afternoon meal from boosters. NOTE: Because we are a new band in 4A this year, we received an early performance time slot. Unfortunately, we will have to remain at the competition site until awards at 4:45 to determine if we make finals and will march later that evening.
Finals begin at 6pm!

CIMS Band Night was a Major Success!

Congratulations to our 50 CIMS Band students for making our 2nd Annual MS Band Night a great success! Including our MS guests the Legend Marching Band was 165 members strong. Students were prepared very well by their amazing Band Director Mrs. Martha OConnor. Thanks!
During the evening the band students were given t-shirts, goodie bags, balloons and a hearty band dinner. But, the best part was when they played the Legend pep songs / fight songs with the LHS Band – they sounded great!!!!!!
At half-time the students were treated to a portion of the 2010 Field Show!
Thanks Cimarron MS Band students / Mrs. OConnor and Mrs. Tarbell for making this happen! See You Next Year!

Chili’s Night Out

Our next restaurant fundraiser night is at Chili’s, 11481 S. 20 Mile Road, on Tuesday, September 14th from 10:30 am to 10:00 pm. The hours are extended so you may stop in for lunch or dinner. Remember to bring in the attached flyer and the band will receive 10% of your sales. You may dine in or use their curbside service to pick up your order to go AND get a gift certificate for your next visit to give the band an extra boost. We hope to see all the band families there after Tuesday practice. Be sure to tell all your friends too!
