Congratulations to the 2010 Legend Marching Band on an excellent day at the 2010 Colorado State Fair Parade. The band 115 members strong earned 2nd place in the 4A classification(8) bands! and received the Prestigious 2nd Place Sweepstakes Award for finishing as the 2nd highest scoring band out of all (22) bands for the entire day. Numerous comments were made from the crowds and judges alike, “They don’t look like a second year marching band?” was what we heard all day. We’ll take that as a compliment!

Thanks go to all of the parents and supporters of the Legend Marching band who came down to see the band. Thanks again to all the parents that donated and/or passed out Cups of water, Water Bottles, Fruit, Granola Bars and other snacks to ensure that the kids good health and strength was maintained. NEED I SAY? THE PIT CREW WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I’m sure that if there was an award for pit crew… you would have received 1st Place!

A special thanks to the parents that stayed behind in Parker to run the Double Angel Field Concession Stand!

A Very Special Thanks to Karen Tarbell, Principal of Cimarron MS.

And FINALLY,
Congratulations to all of the Legend/Cimarron Marching Band students for all of their hard work, dedication, sacrifice and commitment to excellence!

Ahoo… Ahooo…Ahoooo!!!

1st Place in 4A and 1st Place Sweepstakes, went to Mesa Ridge HS under the direction of Phil Olivas… Congratulations!

It’s been noted that one of our LHS football games was changed to Saturday, October 23rd 7:00pm, it was our last Titan Band performance on a Friday.

This brings up a new scenario for the band for Saturday 10/23:

a. If we march in the semi-finals during the day and make it to finals that night then we will stay at the Air Force Academy and compete in all of the CBA events of the day.

b. If we march in the semi-finals but not the Finals that day we would be expected to march at the football game later that night at 7:00pm.

The new date change is reflected in our football banner, calendar and we will keep everyone updated to any other changes as they may happen.

Our First Restaurant Fundraiser for the Year!

For those of you new to the band, the restaurant fundraiser nights are an easy way to help the band make some money. All you need to do is simply eat out at a certain restaurant on a designated night and time. The band receives anywhere from 10 to 20% of all the band sales for the evening. We try to schedule these on a Tuesday or Thursday night during the 2nd and 4th week of the month. We also try to accommodate everyone’s eating preferences by having them at a variety of restaurants in the Parker area.

So, our first restaurant is Panda Express! Please bring in the attached flyer on Tuesday, August 24th anytime between 4:00 and 9:00pm at the Panda Express located at 11153 S. Parker Road (by Home Depot). You must have the flyer in order for the band to receive credit for your purchase. You may dine in or carry out. Print copies for or email all your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. The more people who come in, the more money the band makes! Hope to see you there!

Mark your calendars for a night out at Chilis on September 14th!
