Demo night was a great success! Thanks parents,friends and supporters for coming out on Thursday night to support the band. Our official attendance/count was around 300 guests. WOW!!! Hope everybody had a great time.
The Legend Titan band members look forward to seeing all of you at our future performances this season.

Congratulations to:
Morgan N(A Sax) and Austin C(Baritone)
They were selected by band camp members and band officers as the most improved 2010 campers.
Morgan and Austin were selected because of their outstanding improvement and amazing band spirit.
Braiden O(Trumpet) was selected as the overall outstanding band camper.
Braiden was selected because of his excellent musicianship and marching skills as well as tenacious Titan spirit.
Congratulations to all of the Legend Band members(Color Guard/Percussion and Winds) on a tremendous summer band camp! Ahoo… Ahoo… Ahoo…!
Introducing….Marching Miles!
Marching Miles: A Band Boosters pledge program based on how many miles (5 days total) the kids march at band camp. Legend Titan Band has already started keeping track and yesterday, the kids marched over 4 miles!
As you know, the Band Boosters provide financial support to the Band Program. We purchase and supply instruments, props, uniforms, trucks to move Pit equipment, buses for competitions, and much, much more! Right now, we are raising money for a new tuba!
So kids…ask mom and dad, grandma and grandpa, friends, neighbors, businesses, teachers!! All deductions are tax deductible! Pledge forms will be coming home today, Tuesday, July 27th!

Friday Update!!
Double Angel Rescheduled!!! Due to scheduling conflicts, the entire marching band WILL NOT perform at the Double Angel Ballpark this Friday at 5:30pm. The only events this Friday will be the last day of Band Camp 8am – 4pm followed by the Pool Party later that evening.

Garage Sale Reminder!

A quick reminder – our Garage Sale is this coming weekend! We hope everyone has been busy cleaning out their cabinets, closets, drawers, basements, and garages gathering items for the band’s 2nd Annual Garage Sale. You may drop off the items at the Theater garage (by the band room door) Monday, July 26th through Thursday, July 29th from 7:30am to 12:00pm. We will also be there at 4:00pm if you want to drop off items when you come to pick up your band student. The garage will be open 7:30am to 4:00pm on Friday, July 30th. We will accept any items except for hazardous materials. However, if you donate a mattress or box-spring and it does not sell, you must come pick it up at the end of the sale. ARC is picking up any unsold items at the end of the day but will not take mattresses and box-springs. Please be sure the donations are in good condition. Remember, all donations are tax-deductible.
In addition we are in need of tables and awnings to be used the day of the sale (Saturday the 31st). If we could borrow yours, please drop them off at the theater garage also. You can pick them up after the sale or during the following week. We will leave them in the band room or hallway.
We could also use a few supplies. These include:
One ball of string
sandwich size Ziploc bags
Quart Ziploc bags
gallon Ziploc bags
price tag stickers
4 rolls of clear packing tape
20 pieces of bright yellow poster board
one roll of yellow caution tape
Boxes – all sizes
Lastly, if anyone has a small flatbed trailer and can help with the set-up, that would be greatly appreciated. Set-up will be from 6:00 am to 8:00am. We could use a couple more volunteers (adults and/or students) to help with set-up, and maybe an adult or two to help with the 12:00 to 2:00pm shift. If your child wishes to help with set-up, please be sure to pick them up at 8:00. We already have students assigned to work the rest of the shifts.

Band Camp 2010

The LHS Titan Band is having a blast this week at camp – between sectional practices, and marching practice, the downtime they get is a barrel of fun.
Last night it was a scavenger hunt, the teams had to get to their next clue by walking as a group roped together, figuring out how to walk as a group and not trip over each other. Team building skills such as the human knot and trying to get out of the knot was a challenge but with much laughter. Everyone is having fun – take a peek and see what they have been up to!

You may remember when the Legend Titan Band site first started – there was a picture of Mr. Otis sitting on a ladder and an update post was that we were looking for a scaffolding.

The scaffold arrived and was recently assembled by the LHS Titan Band Leaders and the Band Booster parents – where they held a painting party and painted the scaffolding Legend blue!

Last Friday – our newest LHS Band Students received a small viewing of what band would be like. They were introduced to the leaders of the LHS Titan Band and learned basic drills of the band before heading off to band camp on Sunday.
It’s going to be an exciting year with the Titan Band – more photos then ever from the amazing parents that help support the band!
Garage Sale Flyer

The garage sale is getting closer! We made a flyer that can be posted at all the community bulletin boards – Starbucks, Panera, Heidis, the Fieldhouse, Kunjani Coffea, Crosswalks, Vitamin Cottage, and the Library. We also put some of the flyers at the laundromat. If you know of any places that we missed, would you please print off a copy and take it there. Or, if you can post one at your work place, your neighborhood, your school, etc., please do so. There are 2 sizes of the flyer.
