Legend to Host 1a 2a 3a Major Marching Festival

Congratulations!
The Legend HS Marching Band has been given the opportunity to host a very unique marching festival. One which caters to the smaller schools in the state. 1a 2a 3a marching programs will have the chance to compete at a very high level using the same caliber and in some cases the same judges that will be judging them in the CBA state marching events.

Wayne Manzanares, CBA State Marching Affairs Chairman said, “Many of the smaller schools in the state don’t have the chance to compete in a prelim/finals competition format and at a facility like this, I believe this is going to be a great festival for those programs.”

These bands will be able to compete in the new multi-million dollar Burt.com Stadium in a Pre-lim / Finals format -under the lights! Burt.com stadium is a 4,000 seat facility.

The Field show competition will be on Saturday, October 16th, 2010. 1a 2a 3a bands in the state will begin registering for the event beginning this spring.

The Legend Band family is proud to host this festival on behalf of the Douglas County School District and the entire Parker community.

The Legend Titans will not be competing at this event , but will perform an exhibition show.

Special Thanks go to the Dave Callan at the District Facility Use office and Debby Santy and the Board of Directors of the Double Angel Foundation for the use of facilities to make this event happen!

San Diego / Disneyland – Take 2!

The pictures are still coming in! Thanks to Mr. Moroni – our second set of photos from the San Diego and Disneyland trip are online for viewing! If you would like to send in your photos – please send burn them to a cd and turn them into Mr. Otis or Mrs Rosa who will get them to the website admin. If you have video of the parade or any of the half time event from the game, please contact me and we’ll see how to get that online as well!

Silent Auction Meeting

There is a Silent Auction Meeting arranged for Feb. 17th at 6:30 at Panera’s. There are many opportunities to volunteer for this event-please contact myself Kathryn Brewer (pineylake@aol.com) or Deb Hamor (dhamor@edirectlink.com) – if you would like to be a part of this event.

Band Booster Meeting

The next Band Booster meeting is Wednesday, February 10 at 6:30 in the band room. Booster meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. See you there!

Nomination Committee

The Nomination Committee is accepting applications for the 2010 Band Boosters Executive Board. Positions available are: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Ways and Means Chair, and the Fundraising Chair. Please submit your biography to Mary Bott (robbott@msn.com) no later than February 1st, 2010.

Auction Donation Letter

For those who would like to help with donations for our upcoming Auction (April 3rd), please use the following auction donations 2010 letter that makes aware of the auction and thanks the business for their item if they should donate. Legend Titan Band Spirit Day at Good Times

Come to Good Times located at 11305 S. Parker Road (next to Texas Roadhouse) on Thursday, January 28th from 10:00am to 8:00pm and the band will receive 15% of your sale. No flyer is necessary but you must mention you are there supporting the Legend Band in order for the band to benefit. You may dine-in or go through the drive-thru. Thanks for supporting the band!

Welcome to Legend’s 1st Band Student Teacher

Welcome to Ms. Leah Concialdi, Student Teacher from the University of Northern Colorado. Ms Concialdi is a music education major with an emphasis in saxophone performance. We are very happy to have her here at Legend for the next few weeks. We wish Leah much success in her future teaching career!
