San Diego Band Parade Update!

The parade that is being aired on channel USA on January 1st (Happy New Year!) is at 7am! From friends of friends who were there, the Legend Titan Band is near the end of the parade.

Hopefully we’ll have video from half time when they get back!

Titan Marching Band Prepares for 1st Ever Major Band Trip

The LHS Titan Marching Band prepares to leave for its 1st Major Marching Band trip.

The band will be representing Legend HS / Town of Parker / and the State of Colorado in the 2009 Pacific Life Holiday Bowl Parade (broadcast live locally in San Diego and nationally on the USA Network on a tape-delayed basis – consult the USA Network for parade airing) and the Nationally televised massed band half-time show at the football game (Nebraska/Arizona) – on ESPN. BOTH EVENTS will be held on Wednesday, December 30th.

In addition, the band will also march on January 1st Down MAINSTREET in DISNEYLAND!

Bowl Games of America has said it believes Legend is the 1st ever HS band it has invited to be a part of such an event that does not have any juniors or seniors in the band!

The Band is also very excited to be participating with the Orchestra and Choir on this history making trip for the Legend Performing Arts Department!

Spirit Wear!

If you have ordered any Spirit Wear in the past few weeks – such as shirts, hoodies, travel bags, water bottles, other clothing items and calendars… we will be dispersing the orders at Panera Bakery on Tuesday, December 22 at 7pm (tomorrow night!)

We plan on staying till 8:30, so if this time window does not work for you, please contact Susan or Rhonda to work out other delivery times.

Panera Bread is located in the Target Shopping Plaza on 20 Mile Road, we’ll be the rowdy bunch in the restaurant spreading the holiday cheer and spirit wear!!

Don’t Forget!

Our second fundraiser is today, Sunday, December 20th at the HoneyBaked Ham store located at 18870 E. Plaza Drive. The restaurant will donate 20% of your purchase to the band. You do not need a flyer and may come any time during business hours 11:00am to 5:00pm. In addition to your lunch or dinner pick up a ham, turkey, or dessert for Christmas dinner while you are there.

Silent Auction Meeting

There will be an Auction meeting on Thursday 12/17/09 at 6:30 pm in the band room. Katherine Brewer is the chair person. Anyone wanting to help this successful event is welcome to attend!!

Parker’s Christmas Carriage Parade

The state of Colorado and surrounding high schools have met the Legend High School Marching Band over the past few months, now it was the time for the city of Parker to meet the Marching Band! On a nice but chilly Saturday afternoon, the Legend High Marching Band marched down Main Street with a sea of blue band shirts in the audience cheering on the band. Our Marching season may be over for 2009, but it’s only the beginning for this amazing band… view for one last time, our last marching event officially for two-thousand and nine. See you next year!

Sponsorship letter campaign in full swing!!

Parents and Students every year about this time we will be holding our annual sponsorship letter campaign to help raise funds for every component of the Legend band program.

We are asking on Friday 12/11 that every student bring 5 – 10 addresses to school with them. These addresses can be out-of-state relatives, businesses that you frequent or not, companies that might be willing to donate through a corporate sponsorship to organizations like ours or in general anyone that you would like to get a sponsorship letter. Band parent boosters will be in band classes on Monday with pre-printed color letters, envelopes etc… which explain our organization and how they can get a tax break from any donation they make to the program… The parents will assist students in filling out and mailing these letters to the addresses provided. Students may bring more than 10 addresses if they like. Remember students only need to bring addresses, all other materials will be provided by the boosters.
Students will receive 50% of a donation made in their name, these funds will go directly into their accounts and the other 50% will go into the general booster account. Cimarron students who will be involved in any portion of the Legend band program next year may also participate in this activity! All parents may request additional sponsorship letters from Rob Moroni.

Full Marching Band – Saturday 12/12.

Students arrive at Legend 12:45 and leave at approximately 1pm

Parade step-off is 2pm

We are # 30 in the parade and the last band to step-off.

Students estimated return time to Legend after the parade is 2:45pm

Winter Band Concert reminder 12/10

Tonight, (Thursday) 12/10/09 ALL students arrive for dress rehearsal at 5:30pm……….Concert Starts at 7pm.
